When you commit a crime, you try to make sure that you do not get caught; however as humans we are entitled to make mistakes. Another fear of committing crimes is of not getting caught by the police and the law enforcement agencies. In most cases, those who have the power and the resources on their hands tend to escape the aftermath of the crime they commit while other might get caught. In such cases, your sentence would depend on the level of crime you have committed which might include imprisonment or even death sentence if the crime is of a high level.
However, in the world which we live in today, has 10 fugitives who have been on the run and never have been caught by the police or any other agencies. These top of 10 fugitives are listed below:
1. Osama Bin Laden
Osama Bin Laden is the most common and the world’s most famous fugitive alive. It has been a decade since Osama Bin Laden came out into the big picture and held himself responsible for the 9/11 attacks in the United States which took down the twin towers. He has been linked with major crimes such as terrorism, murder, conspiracy, and attack on a federal facility resulting in death. The FBI has a $25 million dollar reward for any clues to his whereabouts.
2. Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar
Dawood Ibrahim has been the most wanted man of India. His entire set up is based in the city of Mumbai in India and runs a company by the name of D-Company which is responsible for major crimes such as drug trafficking, murders, weapon smuggling, kidnapping, extortion etc. The reason why he is most wanted is because of his links to the Mumbai bombings of the 1993 in which 257 were killed and 713 people were injured. It is believed that he is currently either in Pakistan, India or Yemen though no one has been able to track him down.
3. Joaquin Guzman
Guzman has been linked with major crime such as drug trafficking and is known as Mexico’s drug kingpin. He operates an organization by the name of Sinaloa Cartel. He was last arrested in 1993 in Guatemala and there has been no news of him ever since and is believed to be linked with major drug trafficking in the world today. The United States have kept a bounty of $5,000,000 leading to his arrest.
4. Chief Ratko Mladic
Mladic has his routes in Bosnia from where he originates and was the leader of Karadzic’s army. He has been the leading figure in the war against Muslims and is linked with various major crimes such as genocide, crimes against humanity, and numerous war crimes as well as taking of hostages amongst UN peace keeping personnel.
5. Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov
Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov, born and raised in Uzbekistan is a member of a Russian Gang who is guilty of various major crimes such as human trafficking, distribution of illegal arms and ammunition, stealing vehicles etc.
6. Matteo Messina Denaro
Denaro, an Italian criminal has been seen as a fashion figure by most people around the world because of his rich empire. He is often referred to as diabolic and tries to show off his money in any way possible, by owning the most expensive cars, having large mansions, having affairs with the most beautiful women etc. He is linked to major crimes such as drug trafficking and murdering people. Most Italian mafia’s are linked to him and he is wanted in Italy for the 1993 Cosa Nostra Campaign in which bombs were exploded in order to disturb the local government.
7. James J. Bulger
Bulger operates across the United States and his entire criminal network started from the 1970’s and till date he is operating and is yet to be found. He has been linked with various major crimes such as extortion, drug dealings and murder of famous people. The FBI is offering a $2,000,000 reward for information leading directly to his arrest.
8. Omid Tahvili
Tahvili also known as Nino is a member of Persian crime family which operates from Canada and is connected to the triads and other various criminal groups. He was once jailed in British Columbia but offered a bribe of $50000 to a policemen who then set him free. He has been linked to crimes such as torture, drug involvement, theft and fraud business scams. He is known to have great connections across the Europe and Middle East.
9. Aribert Heim
Aribert Heim is better known as Dr. Aribert Heim who is one of the last major of Nazi Fugitives who are still out there at large. He is believed to be 94 years old now and still is wanted. Originally starting from Germany during the Nazi regime, he is now operating across the world. He has been linked with major crimes such as killing and torturing people for ransom. He is most wanted by the Austrian government for a $495,000 reward.
10. Joseph Kony
Joseph Kony is the leader of the Lord’s Resistance army which is a guerrilla group operating in Uganda. He has been linked to the largest child abduction rate in the world and alone has abducted around 60,000 people and displaced around 2 million people most of them being children. He tends to manipulate children to fight for his campaign and beliefs and often makes the children kill their parents. He is wanted for spreading war crimes and for crimes against humanity.
