We all believe that USA must have the best airlines in the whole world. Well, that is not true. Ask people who have traveled in USA airlines. They may be cheap, they may be expensive but the kind of service they give is not really impressive. We all love to travel. Our journey starts form the moment we sit on the flight. If you travel during the peak session, then you’ll surely have to face problems in the plane.

1) Delta Airlines:

  • This is the most complained airline in USA. Thus, it is on the 1st position.
  • The number of complaints lodged for this airlines round off to 1.96 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • The most common complaints are for the luggage handling, ticket reservations and flight cancellations.

2) United Airlines:

  • United Airlines is on the 2nd position.
  • The number of complaints charged is 1.34 for every 100,000 passengers.
  • By 2008, the number of complaints rounded off to 1.86. So this means it is improving.
  • The basic problem one faces in this airline is luggage mishandling and flight delays and cancellations.

3) U.S. Airways:

  • The 3rd place goes to “US AIRWAYS”.
  • Almost 1.31 complaints for every 100,000 passengers have been received for this airline.
  • Now this is a better score as in 2008 it had a total of 2.01 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • This airline makes common mistakes in ticket reservations and boarding.
  • Thus it is not suitable for a businessman.

4) Northwest Airlines:

  • Now everyone wonders what happened to the Northwest Airlines 8 spot drops.
  • In 2009, the number of complaints lodged was around 1.31 for every 100,000 passengers.
  • The major reason for such a drop off is its merger with the Delta Airlines to improve its ranking.
  • The problem that arose here was a more complicated ticketing system.
  • Unfortunately, this merger lead it to land on the 4th position.

5) American Airlines:

  • The American Airlines ranks number 5.
  • It received 1.07 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • It is trying to improve its performance and soon it will not be seen among the list of complained airlines.

6) Comair:

  • Comair has a really bad profile and has moved one spot down with 1.03 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • Most of the passengers complained about flight delays.
  • In 2009, Comair ranked as one of the poorest for punctuality among all other U.S. airlines.

7) Continental Airlines:

  • It is in a pretty bad shape with 1.00 complaints for every 100,000 passengers. Hence, it is on the 7th position.
  • They have planned a merger with United.
  • This can cause more issues with the airlines.

8) AirTran:

  • It received 0.97 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • As they don’t have a full service carriage contract, they re-arrange their flights.

9) Frontier Airlines:

  • It received 0.92 complaints.
  • In 2008, it was amongst the best airlines in U.S.A. but the Midwest Airlines’ system did not price well.
  • Thus it is on 9th position.

10) JetBlue Airways:

  • On the last spot, we have JetBlue Airways with 0.85 complaints for every 100,000 passengers.
  • It gets the best ratings for low-cost carriers across U.S.A.
