  • Jim Jones was the founder of The People’s Temple.

  • The followers believed that suicide was their only rescue and they will go on a journey to a star, Sirius.
  • 53 members were found dead in 1994.
  • Joret earned 93 million dollars through this cult.

4) Heaven’s Gate:

  • The followers believed in UFO’s and that the Earth will be wiped out or recycled.
  • Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles taught that the only escape was to get off the planet quickly.
  • After seeing the Hale-Bopp comet, Applewhite ordered his followers to commit suicide.

5) The Manson Family:

  • Charles Manson shared his belief that the Beatles’ White Album were giving messages on how to participate in Helter Skelter.
  • Songs like ‘Piggies’ attracted many drug addicts.

6) The Ku Klux Klan:

  • The KKK, used to disguise themselves in white robes and hoods.
  • They were the off-springs of Christian Identity Movement, and practiced cold-blooded acts.

  • David Kreg turned girls into prostitutes.

  • The followers of Sun Myung Moon believed that Moon was their divine being.

  • Hindus believe in God Krishna, who is just a character of Mahabharat.
  • Their chant basically meant, “the energy of Lord.”

10) Scientology:
