Missing people are reported every year, these are people whose whereabouts are not found once they go missing. In order to be assumed dead, a body has to be found or any remains of the body. The thing with the missing people is that no conclusive evidence is available in either to assume them dead or alive.
1.The Mary Celeste
It was a merchant vessel found abandoned and adrift in the year 1872 in the Atlantic Ocean, the seven members of the crew including the captain and his family which included his wife and daughter were nowhere to be found. The ship was found in a good state, it was not damaged though the ship’s life raft was not there. The ship cargo, other necessary survival items and other valuable items were all there untouched.
2.D.B Cooper

A famous American criminal whose fate is still unknown, he hijacked the Boeing 727 commercial in 1971. After demanding and successfully receiving a ransom of 200,000 and four parachutes he parachuted from the plane and since then no whereabouts of him have ever been known.
3.Amelia Earhart
She was a pilot who has to her credit numerous records in the aviation industry in the 1920, in 1937 she set off for a flight around the globe with navigator Fred Noonan. She was almost at the end of her journey in the south pacific when all contact with her was lost. A search was begun but no wreckage or signs were found either of the two or the plane.
4.Flight 19

Flight 19 was a navy flight which went missing while on a training mission near Florida in 1945, a plane which was later sent to search and investigate the flight exploded. No wreckage was ever found of the flight 19.
5.Ambrose Bierce

He was a famous American writer and a critic, he was also a civil war veteran who in 1913 left for the tour of the South Battlefields.
He went into Mexico and observed the Mexican revolution along with Pancho Villa’s army and finally disappeared near Chihuahua Mexico.
6.Joseph Force Carter

A famous judge of the New York city, he mysteriously disappeared in 1930, though along with his disappearance his Bank Account and safe deposit box were also found emptied. He disappeared on the 6 of August, 1930 and nothing has been known about him since.
7.Jimmy Hoffa

He had proven business dealings and association with the crime families, he also held the position of the president of the International Brotherhood of teamsters. He was due to attend a meeting with the two of the mafia related people on 30 of July 1975, when he suddenly disappeared. His whereabouts or body could never be found despite of the many investigations but his disappearance was vastly linked to the mafia whom he had dealings with.
8.Louis Le Prince

He is the one who is credited with the development of the first motion picture camera along with the projector system. He mysteriously disappeared after boarding a train for Paris for meeting his family, when the train arrived at Paris not only him but even his camera equipment and his luggage which he was carrying with were not in the train.
9.The Lost Colony

This is a case of mass disappearance, a whole island inhabitants disappeared. A group of 14 people settled themselves in the Roanoke Island in 1587. The leader of the group went to England in wake of some apprehensions about the colony only to find out at his return that there was no sign of either a life in the colony or that of the settlement.
10.Percy Fawcett

He was an archaeologist and went to Brazil to discover a lost city which was supposed to be located deep in the jungle along with his son. The wire message he sent to his wife was the last news which was heard of them.
