The inventions of all these inventors have changed the world and it is because of them that the world is today, where it is, in terms of technology and progress. The inventions of the great inventors have made life not only easy but also have made the era of today the era of technology.
1. Alexander Graham Bell
Though by large he is famous for his invention of telephone but the fact is that there is far more to his list of accomplishments than this. He also has the honor of being one of the members who played a pivotal role in the foundation of the National Geographical Foundation in 1888. Enlisted also in his inventions are the modern metal detector and audiometer.
2. Benjamin Franklin

Franklin was a man of great achievements and talents, he to his credit have inventions like the lightning rod, glass armonica, Franklin stove, flexible urinary catheter, carriage odometer and the bifocal glasses. One interesting factor about Franklin is that he did not patent any of his inventions.
3. George Westinghouse

He is credited with the invention of electrical system which made use of the alternating current which ultimately led to the pavement of way for the modern power grid. He was also the one to invent the railway airway brake.
4. Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison to his list of inventions has most famously the light bulb, his other inventions include the motion picture camera and the phonograph. Thomas Edison greatly concentrated and paved way for the Research and Development efforts.
5. Archimedes of Syracuse

He belonged to the ancient Greek era; he is probably one of the greatest mathematicians of all times.
6. Jerome Lemelson

This inventor has as many as 605 patents to his credit. His inventions include the camcorders, fax machines, industrial robots, videocassette recorders, automated warehouses, cordless telephones and the magnetic tape drive which is used in the Sony’s Walkman tape players. This is not the end of his list of achievements, he is also credited with filing patents in fields as diverse as diamond coating technologies, medical instrumentation, consumer electronics and television and cancer detection and treatment.
7. Edwin Land

Edwin Land holds 535 patents in U.S.A. He is best known for the development of the first self-developing camera. He also played a pivotal role and his work laid the foundation of development of photography.
8. Leonardo Da Vinci

Da Vinci might not have invented something but he is definitely credited with envisioning the future creations like the submarines, tanks and the gliders.
9. Nikola Tesla

Though he is relatively unknown but he has to his credit various achievements like his theoretical work which laid the foundation of the modern alternating current electrical power systems. He also paved the way forthe development of radar, computer science, remote control and expansion of ballistics. His contributions can be apprehended by the fact that he has 111 patents to his credit.
10. Hero of Alexandria

Though he existed during the times of the Roman Empire, he developed things like a windmill operated organ, the syringe, a force pump and a fountain capable of operating off hydrostatic electricity. He also has the credit of inventing the first coin- operated vending machine.
