Their Last Memories – People Who Left A Mark

A surge of emotions can be felt when you closely look at photographs. They revive old memories. They bring up the old long forgotten past and often a range of emotions. Under one umbrella never does a Human mind feel so challenged other then this moment. We always have our ideals, our icons, our leaders, our champions, our mentors. They are the people who have changed the way we look at life.

Those Who Are Gone

I have combined for you the 10 most historic photographs of those entities which have greatly been remembered in our hearts and minds and shall always be there. Either people or monuments. Individually we can only travel as much as we will. These pictures give us a glimpse into the reality. They instantly take us around the world. They give us hope and courage and confidence to move ahead. Here I bring to you those pictures.

Jesse James was one of the most famous rebels in the history of America who was born in year 1847. He was wildly famous for his murders and robbery. He became frenzy after his death in 1882 after Robert Ford; one of his most trusted mentors shot and killed an unarmed Jesse. Ford decided to cash in his reward and become famous. However Jesse James still lives in the hearts of those who remember him as a valiant fighter who fought in the days of Civil War.

His death became national news and spread like wild fire in a forest. Jesse’s final picture was taken to confirm his death and to officially record the incident in the record books. The final picture of Jesse gives a depressing profile to one of America’s greatest outlaws. He will undoubtedly be remembered for several generations to come in American folklore.

2. Minds Like Jeffrey Miller (1950-1970)

Jeffrey Miller was one of the brightest minds around. With only 20 years of age he moved to Kent State University and got enrolled. Jeffrey was a very smart boy with a lot of friends. He was socially active and was known for his sharp mind. On 4th of May 1970, Miller was shot and killed by one of the Ohio National Guardsmen. There was a peaceful walkout of students all over American policy of invasion of Cambodia.

Jeffrey was a kind hearted and a passionate young man who was brutally killed at a very young age. This picture is one of the most famous in the history of United States which depicts realism of this event. I personally believe that this picture holds immense importance, both socially and politically. It truly taught the upcoming generations the value of the cause for which these students resisted for.

3. Salvador Allende – Man Of Substance (1908-1973)

Salvador Allende was a Chilean leader. He served as the Chilean President and was one of the most important political icons of his time in Chile. He also took part in World Politics and worked dedicatedly for the well fare of his nation. Salvador was a socialist and always supported this cause. He had a very intimate relationship with the Chilean Communist Party from the beginning of his political career.

He was finally thrown off in 1973 in the Chilean Coup D’état and was killed. It is reported that his body found was full of AK-47 ammunition like a bag of bullets. In the final days of his government, Allende realized that he holds the power only for a short period of time. He also acknowledged the fact that his life was at great risk. He was always accompanied by body guards like seen in the last of his pictures when he is being safely escorted by two armed men. The world’s political history is plagued by such events and this man shall always be remembered.

4. King Of Pop – Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

Michael Jackson was a legendary musician who had no replacement. He died a mysterious death after suffering from breathing problems and followed by a Cardiac arrest. Paramedics rushed into his house and took him under their custody. This final picture was taken by a photographer who had given to us something very special.

Jackson was as famous for his charities and social service as he was for his music. He dedicated his lifetime to the cause of nobility and supported as many as up to 40 organizations. Jackson’s record sales and awards dominate all other celebrities and is considered the most successful entertainers of all times. Michael Jackson will always be remembered in our hearts as the King of Pop. May you rest in Peace Sir.

5. MV Wilhelm Gustloff (1945)

MV Wilhelm Gustloff was a German passenger ship which served during the World War II. The ship originally served as a floating hospital ship but later served as a floating barracks for forces personal. On 3oth of January 1945, 3 torpedo from the Soviet Submarine S-13 Sank the memorable ship to bits.  Killing about 9000 People.

The ship was struck while participating in evacuation of civilians and personal that was surrounded by the Red- Army in East Prussia. The ship took approximately an hour to completely drown. Its shipwreck remains the largest on the floor of the Baltic Sea floor.

6. Deadly Chris Benoit (1967-2007)

Christ Benoit is regarded as one of the most famous and talented of wrestling performers worldwide. He accomplished a lot during his entire career as one who would fight back till the end. Known for his brutal fights, above is Benoits last of pictures taken the day of his death. During his entire career Chris won around 16 championships.

The death of Chris took place in mysterious circumstances when he allegedly murdered his family and then killed himself. Drugs and Steroids where found from his residence later on.

7. Red Baron – Manfred von Richthofen (1892-1918)

Manfred von Richthofen was one of the most infamous of German air pilots who fought during the World War. Manfred is regarded as the pioneer of fighter piloting. He has an unbeatable streak of 80 victories in air combat.

He was killed in action on 21st of April 1918 while following a novice Canadian pilot and got struck from behind by another of his allies. Above is the very last photograph of Manfred taken just before his flight. It shows him in his typical Forces uniform.

8. Tupac Shakur (1971-1996)

Tupac Shakur was one of the most renowned rap pioneers of the western music industry. He is regarded as one of the highest earning deceased artists. Tupac was widely known for his active part in social activities and also the role he played in the empowerment of peace and prosperity. Tupac was shot twice in his lifetime.

Tupac lived the first and was extremely raged and was the key factor in igniting the Hip Hop Rivalry of the 90`s decade. On 7th of September 1996, Tupac was shot once again 4 times in Los Angeles. Several days later he died of Respiratory failure and Cardiac arrest. His final of photographs was taken 20 minutes before his death.

9. John Lennon (1940-1980)

John Lennon was one of the most legendary song writers of all times. Born in Liverpool, England, he was one of the most amazing entertainers and song composers of all times. Lennon was one of the founding members of The Beatles. On the night of 8th of December 1980 Lennon was shot in the back 4 times. Lennon soon passed away in a local hospital.

His killer Chapman, interestingly made Lennon signs his Double Fantasy copy earlier that day. In history books as it was going to be, Chapman and Lennon were captured in a single snapshot together and this was to be Lennon`s last of picture.  Truly, John has an immortal legacy left behind him and will always be remembered.

10. Gang Of Bonnie & Clyde (1910-1934)

Bonnie & Clyde were 2 of the most gruel some criminals of their times. They robbed and killed several banks and police officers and were of the most wanted. These outlaws managed to gather the attention of the entire Media and News fraternity after each of their hideous crimes.

Bonnie and Clyde were killed on May 23, 1934. Both of them were ambushed and encountered by 6 police officers who immediately killed them and made it a lesson for upcoming generations that such crimes will be taken off with zero tolerance policy. This final picture of the due proves it too.

These are some of the people who have greatly influenced our lives by their amazing work and they shall always live on in our hearts.
